Efail Isaf footpath cleared

Many thanks to the Open Spaces Society member who got onto Rhondda-Cynon-Taff council last December about paths.   One blocked and invisible path through Ty Newydd farm near Efail Isaf has now been  re-opened by  council.  (The “proper” description of the path, Footpath 64, is: leaves the Mountain Road over the Garth, proceeds southwards through the yard of TyNewydd and across fields to end on Willowford Road east of Garth-Fawr.) The photo shows where it ends on the road, a narrow lane and on a corner.

It is good to see the path open.  However, RCT has placed a stile, rather than the recommended kissing gate, at the top of a steep earth bank, making descent onto the road a bit scary.  I hope I am not driving past if a walker slips.  Why can’t they just get things right?  I haven’t checked the full length of the path and hope it is more welcoming.
